New Quay - Burren - Ireland
Bayfield is a lovingly restored 200 year old farmhouse. It is located in the tiny hamlet of New Quay on one of the most beautiful parts of the West Coast of Ireland’s “Wild Atlantic Way”. From the gardens are incredible views of Galway Bay, the hills of the Burren National Park and Bayfield’s own 3 acres of gardens and farm land. Five minutes walk away is New Quay Beach that leads onto the beautiful Flaggy Shore which stretches out West and makes a stunning walk with its views across to Connemara and out to the Atlantic. Our Great Great Grandparents built Bayfield almost two hundred years ago and it has been loved by the family ever since (see the About Bayfield page for a brief history).
The house and the rooms are spacious and comfy. The kitchen is large, well equipped and a lovely place to cook and socialise. There are several sitting areas around the house. The main sitting room is massive with a huge sofa and chairs, and a wood burner. It also holds the sizeable dining table. The garden room is off the sitting room with a large TV screen and great views of the gardens. There are another couple of smaller sitting areas at the front of the house with spectacular views, ideal for if you want somewhere quiet to read, work or plan for the day. (see the “"Bayfield’s Rooms” page)
Please note that the 6th bedroom (the Studio room/annex) is opened separately to the rest of the house allowing Bayfield to sleep 14. If you have booked for 14 you will automatically have use of this room. If there are less of you but you still want to use the Studio annex please let us know and there is a small extra charge. Out of the peak season we also offer the ground floor only (sleeps 6) at a reduced price (with the first floor closed off).
The other pages on this website show pictures of the rooms and have loads of information about the house and the area as well as tips on stuff to do. There are lots of pictures that we and other guests have taken of the area. We get lots of return guests but feel free to book through VRBO or Air BnB or e-mail Max on Maxxbayfield@gmail.com if you need more information or would like to book a stay.
See below a homemade video of Bayfield House. We did it ourselves so excuse it being a bit basic.
